Welcome to The Clark Scholars web site!!

 

The Clark Scholar Program is an intensive seven week summer research program for highly qualified high school juniors and seniors.

  • The Program at Texas Tech University helps the Scholars to have a hands-on practical research experience with outstanding and experienced faculty.

  • The Scholars will receive a $750 tax-free stipend and room and board.

  • The Program includes fun activities, weekly seminars and field trips.

  • This Program provides opportunities for research in all academic areas in the university. (click on Research for list of all research areas).

  • Program duration is from June 19 to August 5, 2007.

  • Applications are due by March 3, 2006 (including Evaluation forms).

Latest News

Research Projects selected for the Intel Science Talent Search. Nationwide, forty students made the finals, out of 300 semifinalists and more than 1,500 total entrants. Finalists were interviewed in Washington, D.C.

Congratulations to two Intel Science Talent Search semifinalists
i) Xiaoxi (Josh) Wang: "Powering a cardiac pacemaker using a piezoelectric circumvascular generator". Josh was mentored by Dr. Ted Weisner in the Department of Chemical Engineering.

ii) Vikas Lonakadi: "Recombinant C4 protein expression in Escherichia coli cells". Vikas was mentored by Dr. Brian Reilly in the Department of Biological Sciences.

Congratulations to our Intel Science Talent Search finalist
Jenny Taylor: "Expression of antimicrobial efflux pump-encoding genes in Erwinia chrysanthemi"
