Previous Clark Scholar Accomplishments

1. Mike Henne- A Clark Scholar during the summer of 2001, has been
accepted to Cambridge University for the fall semester 2005. Mike has
received the Gates-Cambridge Trust Scholarship and a Scholarship from
Cambridge's Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB), known as the LMB
Scholarship.

As a Clark Scholar, Mike worked with Dr. Jean Strahlendorf from the
Department of Physiology at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences
Center, and continued his work as a fellow with
the Texas Tech University Howard Hughes Medical Institute
Undergraduate Research Fellow Program.

. Anita Kallepalli- Anita is the co-author of a manuscript with her Clark Scholar advisor Dr. Ted Wiesner in the Department of Chemical Engineering. The title of the paper is "Temperature Dependence of Electrical Resistivity and Thermal Conductivity for a Gel Model of Nerve Tissue" .Click here for Anita's paper. Anita will be attending Duke University in the fall of 2005.

3. Marissa Krimsky- Marissa is co-author of a manuscript with her Clark Scholar advisor Dr. Bill Maki from the Department of Psychology. The title of the paper is" An efficient method for estimating semantic similarity based on feature overlap:  Reliability and validity of semantic feature ratings.  Behavior Research Methods, Instruments, & Computers", in press. Marissa will be attending Carnegie-Mellon University in the fall of 2005.

4. Anna Symm who worked with Dr. Jean Strahlendorf during the summer of 2005 in the Department of Physiology at the TTU Health Science Center won the gold medal in Biological Sciences for her research at the South Plains Regional Science and Engineering Fair. She will be presenting her research at the International Science and Engineering Fair in Arizona. Anna will be attending TTU in the fall of 2005.

5. He Ren who worked with Dr. Stephan Estreicher in the department of Physics in 2003 is co-author of a manuscript "Structural and vibrational properties of {N,N} pairs and {N,H} complexes in Si" (2004). Physical Review B 69,165206.
